At Kewell Converters, we strongly believe in using our resources to create positive change. That’s why we’re honoured to partner with The Sheltersuit Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing emergency relief to people experiencing homelessness. By donating foam parts for their innovative Shelterbags, we’ve had the privilege of supporting their life-changing mission.
The Sheltersuit Foundation is a non-profit organisation founded in 2014 with a clear mission—providing warmth and safety to people experiencing homelessness. Their efforts focus on creating innovative solutions, designed to protect those most vulnerable to harsh weather conditions.
Their Shelterbags are lightweight, rollable sleep systems with an integrated mattress. This product provides comfort, mobility, and safety for individuals who may not have access to shelter. Since their inception, The Sheltersuit Foundation has distributed countless of these lifesaving items to people in need across the globe.
When they approached Kewell Converters, we knew this was something we wanted to support.
A key feature of the Shelterbag is its thin cushion mattress, which provides much-needed insulation and comfort. However, finding suitable foam material was no easy task. The Sheltersuit Foundation needed a lightweight yet durable solution that was dense and resilient but soft enough to provide adequate cushioning.
That’s where Kewell Converters came in.
With our extensive experience in producing custom foam parts, we were able to meet their requirements by donating 10mm and 20mm foam. These foam donations were carefully selected to ensure durability, comfort, and ease of use, making them an ideal fit for the Shelterbags.
From the outset, sourcing the right materials presented several challenges. The thin cushion mattress needed to be lightweight for portability, yet it had to provide enough support to protect against uneven or hard surfaces. It also had to be produced at the right dimensions to ensure it fit as part of the Shelterbag design.
By collaborating with The Sheltersuit Foundation, we were able to solve these challenges. Using our knowledge of foam cutting and material properties, we donated foam parts that matched their specifications. This foam not only ensures the effectiveness of the product but also offers a sense of comfort and dignity to individuals relying on these vital items.
At Kewell Converters, corporate social responsibility is a guiding principle in how we operate. Partnering with organisations like The Sheltersuit Foundation allows us to give back to the community and extend our social impact beyond the business world.
Foam donations are just one example of how we support meaningful causes. By contributing our resources and expertise, we aim to create tangible improvements in people’s lives.
The work The Sheltersuit Foundation does is truly inspiring. Their dedication to providing relief for people experiencing homelessness deserves recognition and support.
We’re proud to play a part in their ongoing efforts. Please do look at some of the amazing work that they do – we’re proud to support such an amazing organisation.
